Volunteers take part in the association’s activities in line with its mission and values. They are covered by ALSBéarn’s civil liability insurance, are not paid, and participate in decision-making through voting.
Becoming a volunteer with us means joining a caring, committed, and respectful team, where every voice matters and where listening is central—both towards people and animals.
• You help prevent abandonment by becoming an essential link in protecting the human–animal bond.
• You benefit from free internal training tailored to your personal project (animal behaviour, mediation, communication, etc.), whatever your starting level.
• You are supported by a team backed by professionals: psychologists, animal behaviourists, and specialised practitioners.
• You join a kind, open, and supportive community where you can grow and develop your skills.
• You give meaning to your time and see the concrete impact of your commitment.
Together, we create a true safety net for those who no longer have one.
Three levels of involvement

Become a foster family
Foster families temporarily and voluntarily welcome an animal when its owner is no longer able to care for it. Depending on the situation, food and veterinary costs are covered either by the owner or by the association.
They also help preserve the human–animal bond through walks, visits, moments of reunion, and the regular sharing of photos and videos.
Each month, a follow-up meeting is held with everyone involved to adjust the support if necessary, always in the best interest of both the animal and its owner.

Joining Animal et Lien Social en Béarn means supporting a deeply human initiative that protects the human–animal bond—often vital during times of hardship or hospitalization.
Your membership helps organize emergency care, support owners, prevent abandonment, and maintain a reassuring connection.
You become part of a supportive community, gain access to resources, and take part in the association’s activities and decisions.
By joining, you stand up for animal welfare, support vulnerable people, and contribute to a more caring and inclusive society.
The standard annual membership fee is €20.
Make a donation
Your donation, whatever the amount, directly contributes to caring for animals in emergency situations, preventing abandonment, and maintaining the essential bond between owners in difficulty and their companions.
Thanks to your generosity, we can fund veterinary care when owners are unable to pay, pet-sitting and temporary boarding when no foster families are available, essential equipment, and awareness-raising initiatives.
